Working with the SAIS team, the first task was to simplify the risk evaluation methodology. Breaking the process into a set of influencing factors at key locations during the planning process, allowed the minimising of information presented at any one point.

These influencing factors are introduced step-by-step, with access to supporting resources and tools to assist the decision making process. The toolset makes best use of smart phone technology; it includes a clinometer to measure slope angle, a slope aspect tool that integrates with the avalanche risk rose from the daily SAIS avalanche reports to provide an in-screen risk analysis of the slopes around your mountain location. Users have access to current avalanche reports as well the ability to report avalanches directly from the app.
