A small but well established local vets based in Linlithgow – Westport Vets – was soon going to compete against the large national pet & vet stores that would soon be coming to the area. It was key to ensure local pet owners knew what services were available and encourage registration.

SBP was commissioned to re-brand, design and build a new website. It was clear we had to reinforce the personal relationships many owners and pets themselves had established with the practice staff over the years, to avoid switching. We had to dispel any myths that the larger chains were more technologically advanced, had better emergency cover or offered better value for money.


A range of illustrations was developed in a quirky style, to give the practice a strong sense of character and independence – and avoid the corporate style of many larger chains. Giving the pets human accessories throughout the illustrations reinforces the relationship aspect of the service.

The range of services, new equipment, and new initiatives such as pet dentistry was introduced – showing continued investment and innovation.

Take up of the pet insurance and health plans have increased since they were featured on the website, and there are plans to add additional services to the practice, and the website going forward.
